Project Mangement

Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is a body that represents project management in Australia. The AIPM links page provides a fantastic resource pool for Project Managers - a pool which they are happy to receive contributions for.

While it was very difficult to aquire a definitive description of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) from the official PMBOK site, Wikipedia is very generious in describing what PMBOK has to offer Project Management.

From Wikipedia: The Project Management Institute (PMI) published the first A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) as a white paper in 1987 in an attempt to document and standardize generally accepted project management information and practices. The first edition was published in 1996 followed by the second edition in 2000. In 2004 the third edition was published including major changes from the first edition. Currently, an International panel of experts is working on developing the fourth edition which is expected to be published in late 2008."Library of PMI Global Standards". Project Management Institute. Retrieved on August4, 2008. PMI realized the necessity of modifying PMBOK to be coherent with other standards especially Program , Portfolio, Organisational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3), and Unified Project Management Lexicon standards.
